Can we edit Blu-ray in Avid Media Composer directly? As we know, the Blu-ray is a type of optical disc technology, It was designed to supersede the DVD format, and is capable of storing several hours of video in high-definition. The BD format was developed by the Blu-ray Disc Association, a group representing makers of consumer electronics, computer hardware, and motion pictures. Blu-ray uses MPEG-2 to compress video data, which is not an ideal formats for editing with Avid Media Composer. Guide: Convert Blu-ray to DNxHD for Avid Media Composer
1. Load Blu-ray files
Insert your Blu-ray disc into Blu-ray drive and then run the Blu-ray converting software. Click Load Disc icon to load the movies from your Blu-ray discs. You can also import MKV, AVI, MOV, MXF, MTS, MP4 files. On the right windows, you can preview your files and take snapshots of your favorite movie scenes. After the files are loaded, you can select the subtitles and audio track you prefer.
2. Set output format
Tap the “Format” bar and get the dropdown menu, then move your pointer to choose “Editing Software > Avid DNxHD 1080P (*.mov)” as the output format.
3. Start the conversion
Click “Convert” button to transcode and converte Blu-ray videos to DNxHD encode .mov files. After the conversion, click “Open” folder to find converted footage for importing to Avid Media Composer beautifully.
